Thanks to everyone who came along, here is an update:

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

I laid a stake in the House of Commons’ Remembrance Garden to honour & pay my respects to those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Across Knowsley we remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and those who continue to serve.

Lest we forget.

Big thank you to Kelly & Ian from Merseyside Send Support Network for inviting me to their coffee morning in Kirkby a few weeks ago.
If you’re a parent or carer navigating SEND challenges, I want to hear from you
Let’s keep pushing for a system that truly works for every child.

At the Hillsborough Law debate this evening I intervened on the Prime Minister, to ask him to confirm in this House today that the law will be delivered in full and without any watering down. Watch his response here.

Today is the Second Reading of the Public Office (Accountability) Bill which we call the Hillsborough Law.
I am glad that we have got this far and reached this momentous day. This Bill must only be strengthened, not weakened through its passage through the House. #JFT97

Made up to be appointed to the LFC Foundation Advisory Board. The LFC Foundation does great work for our region, especially their work in my constituency of Knowsley.
Looking forward to getting stuck in with other members of the board to support the vital work of the foundation.

It was great to welcome the Minister of State for Housing and Planning @matthewpennycookmp.bsky.social to Knowsley to meet businesses who create housing that is sustainable and energy bill free.

Thanks very much to Hemsec for having us, and to the other people who attended.

I love visiting schools in the borough to meet pupils and amazing staff. This visit to St Anne’s was really poignant because my great member of staff @heatherlafferty.bsky.social went here with her sisters. Faye sadly left us aged just 8. I visited the tree planted, and plaque erected in her memory.

I voted against Nigel Farage’s Bill to take us out of the ECHR. This would rip up rights like freedom of speech and right to protest. It protects the most vulnerable.

The ECHR came about through the post-war consensus never to repeat the horrors the world had seen.

I'm glad the bill was defeated.

Renter’s Rights Bill is now law. For renters in Knowsley, no more fixed term tenancies and no more no-fault evictions. The difference a Labour government makes.
Reform were voting against these rights in same lobby as the Tories. They are are not on the side of the Working Class.
Deeds not words.

Reform say they stand up for the working class - but they never have.

They’ve voted to block the Employment Rights Bill again and again.

It’s Labour on the side of workers: creating jobs, ending zero-hours contracts, and protecting workers from unfair dismissal from day one.

Another step forward for Olivia’s Law 🦋

The Bill passed its final stage in the Commons last night and now goes to the Lords.

This is down to the work of two of the most remarkable women I’ve ever met – my constituents, Olivia’s mum Cheryl and cousin Antonia.

Watch my speech:

Lovely food & lovely staff. This week Huyton Village got a new caff, Morning & Co. I popped in with my team for some brunch. It’s likely to be a regular spot for us.

Thanks to everyone who came to my Supermarket Surgery at Morrisons in Kirkby.
Really important issues were raised including around housing, SEND & NHS. I will do my best.
Thank you too to Morrisons for hosting me and the lovely staff.

I asked the Education Secretary how the new Education & Skills White Paper will create real opportunities for young people in Knowsley.

The Tories lowered ambition for working class kids in my constituency. They deserve better and we must deliver it.

Made up to be elected to the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee. I’ll push for better access to culture & sport for working class people, and keep fighting for a new and fair deal for musicians. 🪩

We're making progress on education in Knowsley because of the work of organisations like @brilliantclub.bsky.social & Knowsley Council, but too few of our young people move into higher learning. Today I asked the Secretary of State if she would meet with me to discuss breaking down the barriers.

Out & about doorknocking in Kirkby this morning with Labour Knowsley Councilors.
Lovely to speak to residents as always.

Met with Minister Nick Thomas-Symonds MP to discuss the Hillsborough Law. I’m made up it’s been laid before Parliament.

We spoke about pushing it through at pace and ensuring it’s strengthened, not watered down – so the truth can never be hidden by the state again.
