The transformative #power of #nature.

This used to an open-cast mine and local eye-sore.
Today it's a peaceful nature reserve and recreational beauty spot with wild birds and even a heron.

The #Odysseus #Greek #myth mentions Phorkys bay, thought a reference to Monk #seals (phokia). They inhabit caves and beaches in Northern #Kefalonia and #Ithaka, now considered key areas for their survival in the Mediterraean.
