Sumo was making a big push here back in 2023, and is now continuing to demonstrate why capital conglomeration like this is bad for workers and artists.

A really fun small arcade-y arena combat game that feels really responsive and juicy, but yeah. Currently playing Bleak Sword DX. AND YOU CAN GET IT FOR LESS THAN 3$ THIS WEEKEND!!! Easy recommend. store.steampowered.com/app/2193050/...
It was very delightful. Great debut game. Can be completed in under 4 hrs even with tons of retries. Which is perfect for me, but for many doesn't justify the full price. Anyways, if you want to have a jolly good time and are curious about exploring new combat systems, try that one. Recommended.
Currently playing En Garde! Combat system 100% sells the swashbuckler fantasy. Also the combat has a feature named "panache", which makes it a must play in my book. Very funny dialogue as well. You have to appreciate the constant puss in boots accents though. store.steampowered.com/app/1654660/...

Similar as with Mickey Mouse, talking about the character becoming public domain is misleading: Certain old works including the characters become public domain, while distinct later versions of the characters still have protections. Be careful.
Popeye & Tintin will enter public domain starting January 1st.

I know I complain about games a lot... but Absolum is the real deal. I was initially skeptical about how mechanics usually designed for quartermunchers would mesh with a rouguelike, but they pulled it off. The characters have amazing combat kits, so it becomes a real fun test of skill. /1
