It might look like we’re at bible class, but in fact we’re celebrating the 60th anniv of the #Pennineway by reading from our books to a packed audience as part of the Todmorden Book Festival. Great to share a platform with @anitasethi.bsky.social @andrewbibby-writer.bsky.social & chair Pam Warhurst.

RIP Prunella Scales, the great Fawlty Towers actress, who I was once lucky enough to interview for the Guardian over afternoon tea at her home in London - she was most welcoming, witty and entertaining.

Oasis gig organisers are encouraging 80, 000 people to bring “an empty plastic bottle” to the Heaton Park, Manchester gigs this month (middle of a heatwave).

I do hope they’ll accept non-#plastic water bottles too & we won’t be refused entry for not bringing plastic with us…

For the past few years I’ve been more used to having a hospital band rather than a festival band on my beleaguered right arm after shattering it requiring surgery & years of physio.

So it’s moving to have a festival band back on it! Here in Cheltenham festival green room.
