There was a lot in that interview. And I’m still struck by Ezra Klein saying that “there was a politics of content moderation that took hold that was more about enforcing boundaries of what were and were not ideas we should be engaged with - rather than about engaging them.” Like. Whet.

Once upon a time, I wrote a policy about race, ethnicity, and national origin for a global social media company. I’ll always remember that the US recognizes exactly 2 ethnicities (Hispanic & non-Hispanic) and realizing how using American binary constructs doesn’t work for the majority of the planet.

I know I'm not the first person or even the millionth person to point this out; it's not even the first time *I* have said it, but this is what actual First Amendment violations look like and the fact that none of the supposed free speech warriors are saying anything about it tells us everything.
