80 years ago, 250,000 prayer cards were being distributed - Patton's Prayer. A huge, rush print job, far beyond the capability of printers in the 3rd Army Adjutant General’s office. The 664th Engineer Topographic Battalion took it on: multiple, large offset presses being ideal for 000s of copies.😊

The Forgotten War Podcast: Burma Campaign WW2 is coming in Feb 2025 - here is a teaser episode discussing the Burma Campaign, remembrance, and the Kohima Epitaph - a phrase many have heard time and again, without really understanding the context.
In a teaser for Series 1 of The Forgotten War Podcast, Jack and Rob sat down to discuss the impact of the Kohima Epitaph - is this the Burma Campaign’s greatest contribution to remembrance in Britain? What else has the campaign given to remembrance?

A hypothetical question came up yesterday… In 1944, what if Monty was at Metz and Patton led Market Garden? Would playing to their respective strengths have changed the outcomes? #WWII #whatif #history

'Saphire and Steel', ITV's answer 'Dr Who' (ITV, 1979). Assignment 2 (the second series), a seance, a ghost soldier, trapped souls, and the First World War. What is not to like?
Perhaps one for @owalpodcast.bsky.social ?

This year's 'We Have Ways Fest' is from September 12 to 14, which coincides with my daughter's birthday and my wedding anniversary. However, I am not sure I'll be able to negotiate a weekend pass from the family to go (unless I persuade them to come with me).

It seems fitting that after participating in the remembrance parade yesterday, my daughter started watching 'Blackadder Goes Forth' with pauses for exposition. 🫣
