agreed - data and data models are useful and crucial tools to make sense of what's going on. but its also just a tool. there's always room for error. a more proper response is pointing out specifics in how the data is wrong and how it could be improved.
you can follow your belief without needing politics nor power.
as a christian, one thing i wish other christians worry less is controlling how society behaves - especially through state powers. its dangerous to mix both as the state and those in power will use religion to justify bad policy.
