It might have something to do with the fact that almost every government this century was elected on a minority of the vote.
Just saying.
Just saying.
The fact that every single PM this century has been more unpopular than the previous one shows that the electorate is impossible to please. We are simply predisposed to automatically hate every government no matter what. I don't know how that's sustainable long-term.

First Past the Post keeps promising stability and delivering chaos.
Governments are elected on a minority of the vote. They impose their agenda without listening to or negotiating with anyone.
They fail and collapse. Rinse and repeat.

Noting the reported instability against the backdrop of the Presidential Election in Chile, maybe it is time for Chile to take a leaf out of the book of stable European Nations like Ireland and Germany, and make moves towards a Ceremonial (and apolotical) Presidency. #chile

Of the 344 divisions held so far this session, 169 would have changed result if seats matched votes. That is, ~49% of the time, opposition MPs represented *more* people but the government won anyway.
