Went to the Blitz Club exhibition at the Design Museum yesterday. It's pitched as "The Club That Shaped The '80s", and clearly played a part in fomenting a scene - fashion, music, video, writing - and putting certain faces on the map. Felt like a continuation of counter-cultural London in many ways

Just been to see Paris75 with @johnnygiles.bsky.social I thought the first hour, the story of those fans' journey through the rounds and to the final was a fantastic piece of social history. The bit about the actual match, especially seeing Paul Reaney vocalise his hurt, felt less healthy. #lufc

Stunning, spectacular performance from @danielmarkavery.bsky.social at the Barbican last night. A full-on audio visual assault, with every form of electronica, from thundering drum n bass to the subtlest aural landscapes synthesised and turned up to the max. Outstanding.

Who's the commentator here, is it Hugh Johns ? "...and Stepney is dead". Premature goal announcements, hyperbolic gibberish. Yes, it's classic #BigMatchRevisited on ITV4.

Faithless performing God is a DJ live on #totp, always such a great live band; and that is an epic track

New @danielmarkavery.bsky.social album, Tremors, arrived today. A clear musical progression from his earlier albums, with a range of vocalists and collaborators bringing new textures. Quality remains outstanding, possibly my favourite album of the year. Can't wait for Barbican next Saturday.

Well I may not know what the songs are called, or which album they're on, but I keep coming back to the Wedding Present live shows. 40 years of heart-on-sleeve classics, in reverse order, in Stowmarket tonight.

Last night was further proof that #lufc are only going to get anything in games this season from sheer guts and a Keep Fighting mentality. Wet Ham were so poor, Bowen aside, but we struggled to get a win over the line. I felt the fans played a big part in pushing the players on, in a tough watch.

Most disappointing thing about my return to Shepherd's Bush last night is that there still isn't a plaque above the McDonald's to mark the spot where aspiring pop minx Alison Clarkson introduced herself to Public Enemy. share.google/rKkSYjCSk4er...

Back at the Shepherds Bush Empire for the first time in twenty years, to see The Christians and The Blow Monkeys with @johnnygiles.bsky.social
The Christians were a bit meh, tbh, but Dr Robert and co were on fine form.

Just back from visiting MiL. She's 92, so fair play.
Talking about her own mother living to 97, she came over all Alan Bennett meets Victoria Wood: "She would've lived longer, but she wouldn't eat her meals on wheels."

Good teams are normally much better at game management than Germany appear to be here, but fair play, #NIR are having a right good go.

Dave from the Winchester showing up around the channels tonight - as an irritated neighbour of Frank Spencer on That's TV earlier, and now as part of the magnificent cast of Zulu on Legend Extra.

Willie Young playing for Spurs. Not sure I knew that.

Also, just thinking this is the sort of match Norman Stanley Fletcher might have gone to whilst on compassionate leave from HMP Slade.

Fwiw, I thought DCL put in a real shift yesterday. Never gonna be a deadly finisher, but he's a great outlet for this team. Gudmundson looks good enough, son, from day one and Bogle is doing the work of two men on the right. Not completely sold on Stach or Ofakur yet, but hopefully they'll improve.
