No cross today. Hmmm.
Reporter: Why are white house officials then meeting with Rep. Boebert in an effort to try to get her to not sign this petition calling for the release of the files?

Leavitt: Doesn't it show transparency that members of the trump administration are willing to brief members of congress?

It certainly appears the United States murdered an innocent fisherman who was a husband and father to four children, claimed he was a "narco-terrorist," posted a video of the execution, and then made jokes about it

67. I fear that the only thing that can restrain Trump is the threat of 67 senators voting to convict him (and Vance). Sure, it's going to be tough, but we can't rely on the Supreme Court or anyone in the executive branch to restrain him. If only there was a way to get #67 to go viral!

I'm excited about every episode I create - why else would I do this (for free!) - but this time I get to talk to some of the greatest poker players in the world, including the guy who literally just won the WSOP Main Event? This is going to be SO. DAMN. FUN.

We should be even more concerned about what Noem said just before @padilla.senate.gov started speaking than we are about how he was assaulted and handcuffed.

We all need to start doing this. Send the White House paper airplanes with our messages on it as a protest. (But I'm not sure if the 1st Amendment would allow us to fly them over the White House fence without getting arrested...)

Cato has published my comprehensive review of the ~240 Venezuelans the US government renditioned 2 months ago to Salvador’s notorious prison. We identified FIFTY who came legally, never violated any immigration law, but are imprisoned at the US government’s request and at US taxpayer expense.

What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

Anyone know how to schedule replies on bsky? I thought of a funny joke about today's wordle but I don't want it to be a spoiler. I signed up with @buffer.com (which looks like a great tool) but you can only schedule new posts, not replies.

It's not uncommon for principals to put things together for a president's final sign off. Presidents are busy. But you can't read these texts and not get the strong sense the actl commander in chief isn't really part of the convo, not literally or figuratively. Out to lunch. Weekend at Bernies vibe.

Perhaps the most concise way to think about this is that Musk has pranced around bragging about cracking down on fraud and abuse, finding the bad guys. Meanwhile what he's actually done is enable perhaps the biggest splurge of fraud and tax cheating in history. For him and his pals.
So look at that. DOGE has cost the US Treasury fucking half a trillion dollars. HALF A TRILLION DOLLARS. This is your cost savings.
To review what we from @washingtonpost.com are reporting out of the IRS today:

- Projected tax revenue this year is down 10% ($500 billion) as Trump's downsizing is emboldening tax cheats

- IRS is nearing an agreement with ICE to assist on mass deportations

It is human trafficking.
Totally agree with this. Flying a person to a third country that they may never have been to, directly into a prison where they are going to be forced to do hard labor, is not a deportation; it's something else entirely.
@washingtonpost.com They were not DEPORTED. Deported means sending them back to their country of origin. These people were sent to a maximum security prison in El Salvador, without any due process or any analysis as to whether they feared harm in El Salvador!

Step 1: Commit crimes.
Step 2: Suck up to Trump to get pardoned.
NEW: Mayor Eric Adams gathered his top commissioners and officials early Monday to give marching orders under the new administration: don’t criticize President Trump, don’t interfere with immigration enforcement and trust the mayor, multiple sources told THE CITY.
Mayor Adams to Top Commissioners: Don’t Criticize Trump, Don’t Interfere with Immigration Enforcement
After weeks of confusing messaging on ICE raids, the mayor ordered his staff to stifle criticism of the feds and that he alone will make sure NYC doesn’t lose funding.

"Miami" John Cernuto has the most poker tournament cashes all-time. He is now on hospice in Las Vegas. I count myself lucky to have played and even cashed with him several times over the last 20+ years. This picture, taken by @bjnemeth.bsky.social, was from a WPT tournament in 2005.

Yep. Probably a bad sign when the FBI Director nominee repeatedly takes the 5th
Sen Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) letter to chair of Senate Judiciary Cmte, which is poised to vote on confirmation of Kash Patel:

“We regret that you have rejected our efforts to inquire into the first-ever invocation of Fifth Amendment protection by a nominee seeking to lead the FBI”

If Harris had promised Kennedy the nomination and Kennedy and Shanahan had thrown their support behind her, the election could have easily swung the other way. We’d still end up with Kennedy as the nominee, but the Senate might not confirm!

No one has ever done this—TWICE—by accident. On camera. Before an international audience.

Again, I've lived a long time. I have never done a Nazi salute. My parents, uncles, in-laws, etc would have gone berserk.

I've seen this explained away as "autism." If so, keep him miles away from govt.
