Great to hear cross party support for Scotland's status as a Fair Trade Nation in Parliament today. The work of brilliant local campaigners was highlighted, as was the need to do more across all sectors, and for Fair Trade principles to be applied more widely across Scottish business

This decision is so depressing, and yet so predictable.

It must be so embarrassing to be a Labour politician at the moment :(
What is 'grown up' about pulling development support from countries we've extracted, pillaged and benefited from historically? Is it only children who have a moral backbone??

Absolutely agree the Fair Trade principles can and should be applied in the Global North too but let's also not lose sight of the original intentions of the movement www.theguardian.com/business/202...

SLR 2024: Here's one last go at wrapping up our 2024 in one handy thread. Big ups to all the bands -- a genuinely jaw-dropping dozen releases to these ears -- and to all of you who bought the records, went to the shows, helped spread the word, etc. On to 2025!

OK, inspired by an earlier convo with @carlajeaston.bsky.social I am going to attempt a thread about Filthy Boy - the greatest band (some of) you have never heard of!

Quite a few of my favourite bands only made one album :( but I can't let this opportunity pass without mentioning the one and only Filthy Boy...

Incredible night watching "Since Yesterday" with its director, @carlajeaston.bsky.social, and the legendary Jill Furmanovsky.

The film provokes a range of emotions from joy to disbelief to anger. Looking forward to seeing Jill's exhibition at Street Level.
