Pro tip for everyone submitting to tech conferences.

Include a video of a previous talk or create one pitching your talk.

Delivery is just as important as the topic.
Don't assume the program committee is familiar with you. You need to convince the PC that your submission is of sufficient quality.

I would like to propose SOSS: Sponsored Open Source Software.

If your company uses OSS, you sponsor the project $100/year.

Not per seat, or per team, just $100/year, all in.

- 30 developers using Ghostty? $100
- 300,000 engineers using tmux? $100, total

Too many projects I wish I had time for.

* A (new) impl of Python, Go, or Rust-like language for JVM.
* Ruby library for emitting Project Babylon CUDA code.
* Ruby LSP plug-in for JRuby Java integration.
* New JRuby SSL library based on JDK crypto support.

I need a team.

Consistently getting "System.IO.IOException: No space left on device" when building JReleaser's next early-access build on Linux x86 with GraalVM Native Image, but not on the other platforms. What gives?!

Ran the Allschwiller Klausenlauf🎅in 00:55:57.6. A bit rainy but not so cold. Second to last race of the year 🤩

A very productive Luzern #Hackergarten (last HG of the year) for @jreleaser.org:
- added a SLSA builder for Bun
- renamed csharp SLSA builder to dotnet
- added SLSA examples for Bun, Deno, and F#
- updated SLSA example for csharp
- added a plain helloworld example for F#

Open Source FTW!

My plans for visiting [at least] 30 JUGs in 2025 to commemorate Java’s 30th anniversary fell short due to recent employment change (still seeking btw). Only made it to 19 at 🇳🇱🇧🇪🇺🇸🇵🇪🇨🇭🇳🇴🇱🇹

Perhaps I can reach the goal next year before Java turns 31, we’ll see 😉

Ran the Santarun🎅 in Bern for the second year. This time I was able to complete 2 rounds for close to 5kms in a bit more than 30 mins. Lots of people enjoying the vibes resulted in a leisure and fun run 🤩
