Big move for the host of COP29:

"As a sign of good gesture, the Republic of Armenia supports the bid of the Republic of Azerbaijan to host the 29th Session of the Conference of Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, by withdrawing its own candidacy."

Sultan Al Jaber: "Oil ans gas industry can lead the way so that others can follow"

Hmmm, isn't it the other way around for about 3 decades ?!

Wow! OPEC is really mad at IEA latest report...

"The manner in which the IEA has unfortunately used its social media platforms in recent days to criticize and instruct the oil&gas ind. is undiplomatic to say the least. OPEC itself is not an org. that would prescribe to others what they should do."

Will Sultan Al Jaber be responsible for the failure of a phase out of all fossil fuels agreement at COP28?

No surprise: we made progress but it's still not enough!

We have to keep on going :)

The US and China's resurgent climate cooperation is a big deal
Even though we now have the Paris agreement, US and China's climate cooperation is still crucial, as they're the world's two biggest emitters

The elephant in the room (that everyvody saw) in Canada 🙃
How have Canada's total GHGs been impacted by trends in its highest emitting sector?

From 1990 to 2021, Oil & Gas emissions increased by 88% while Canada's total emissions increased 14%, going from 17% of national emissions to 28% in that span.

Emissions in the rest of the economy fell by 1%.

Negotiations on L&D are just fine 😅

"The US has resisted the loss and damage agenda at every turn. Its envoys prefer to talk about “resilience”, as though all you need when your home and crops have been washed away in fossil-fueled floods is a positive mental attitude."
