not the main issue here but i'd really appreciate it if democratic politicians spoke out in support of big-city life and culture with the same energy and reverence that all politicians have for small towns

I actually cannot deal with ASOIAF commentary from people who clearly havent read the books and think the show is basically a faithful adaptation.

The medium-term goal here, which most of these people openly admit if you ask them, is the repeal of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which restores their ability to segregate by race, bar black people from businesses, and racially discriminate.

I remember when this story about Facebook and Cambridge Analytica broke and how shook everyone was. People and corporations were deleting their Facebook pages and stopped advertising on the app. The worst companies/people are using our data in the most insidious ways.

I really feel bad for all of the tiktok creators who were able to find something they truly loved and were good at and be paid for it, only to have it ripped away. I’m proud of them for taking a risk but today is a sad day for them.

This week’s Outlander was wild. We’ve been waiting for the big moment for years but It didnt feel AS big as it could have. And I don’t mean that in a critical way. In fact, I think the show took a moment that felt batshit in the books and made it more…human.
