This is it, the best way to help myself is to change how I watch things. I feel I need to stay informed but like I said, every day brings something awful and it's too much. X

I think you're absolutely right, I need to unsubscribe from the channels I watch and view things that change the algorithms. Absorbing so much bad news is definitely going to affect one's mental health.

I tend to watch a lot of political stuff on youtube so the algorithms are feeding me more, plus there's a lot of discussion on here. I do need a break from it though, it's just relentless.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. My 50th was pretty rubbish too - I had to go back to work after a 3 month lockdown. I know this was a significant birthday, but honestly - you could make any birthday significant if you wanted to. Glad you were able to take some positives from the day xx
