Join me Thurs, 11/13, from 5–6 PM at Chase Park in Scarsdale to rally in support of Medical Aid in Dying! This important legislation would give terminally ill, mentally capable adults the compassionate option of medical aid in dying. Let’s come together to urge Gov. Hochul to sign it into law.

My bill with @michellehinchey.bsky.social which creates a research registry on FTD to fight this little-understood form of dementia has been signed into law! This makes NY the first state to establish a research registry for FTD, an important step to improve care and move closer to finding a cure.

Signed Into Law!

My bill with @senatorharckham.bsky.social which requires law enforcement officers to take custody of firearms when responding to domestic violence incidents has been signed into law! This is a critical step towards protecting DV survivors and preventing deadly escalations.

Hallelujah! After more than two years in captivity, all of the hostages who are still alive are finally free. (1/2)

I am heartened by the news of a ceasefire. Now we wait anxiously for the safe return of the hostages to their families. May this be the first step towards a lasting peace.

The indictment of @newyorkstateag.bsky.social Tish James is nothing more than the weaponization of the Justice Department to punish political enemies of the President. This is unacceptable and corrosive to our democracy.

The data is clear that for-profit hospice leads to lower quality care at a time when patients are most vulnerable. I urge @governor.ny.gov to sign my bill with @amypaulin.bsky.social to stop the expansion of for-profit hospice in New York. www.timesunion.com/opinion/arti...
Commentary: New York must act now to protect quality hospice care
Legislation awaiting the governor's signature would block the expansion of for-profit hospice providers, making sure patients remain the top priority.

My heart goes out to Charlie Kirk’s family. His death is a tragedy. This year we have seen several heinous acts of political violence. This bloodshed has no place in our democracy.

The fed govt’s $7.5B cut to NY’s Essential Plan will detrimentally affect 1.7M NYers. 450K will lose coverage, 1.3M will face reduced benefits, and hospitals, employers & our economy will feel the strain.

I stand strongly and unequivocally with Israel.

Israel has taken decisive action to defend its people and its future. No nation should be forced to wait for violence to strike before protecting its citizens.

The horrific attack in Kashmir, where innocent Hindu pilgrims were brutally gunned down, shatters the heart. My thoughts are with the victims, families, and the Hindu American community grieving this senseless act of hate.

Yesterday, the Assembly passed the Medical Aid in Dying Act, which allows terminally ill patients to request medication to peacefully end their suffering (A.136). New Yorkers facing unbearable pain deserve compassion, care, and the right to choose a dignified death.
