To ease the financial crunch, the #NYSAssemblyMajority enacted a multi-year increase to the minimum wage. On Jan. 1, it will rise to $17/hour in NYC, Long Island & Westchester, and $16/hour everywhere else. We’ll never stop fighting to make NY a more affordable place to call home.

Businesses that refuse to accept cash cause inconvenience and leave vulnerable NYers behind. A new law prohibits food and retail establishments from refusing to accept cash (Ch. 548 of 2025). This law will save consumers money and help avoid hidden fees.

No one should have to sacrifice their health because they can’t afford vital medication. A new law requiring state-regulated health insurance companies to cover the cost of inhalers will make this lifesaving treatment more accessible for New Yorkers (Ch. 504 of 2025).
