I am not meant to be a leader, am just meant to be a problem solver - and that takes away all the worry about appearing to be in a certain mould

and this freedom to be you when you meet people is precious

it's less common than people think, almost everyone in middle age in tech can discern this

The most beneficial part of me deciding not to pursue a product management vertical career ladder, instead trying for IC dev roles is:
I have to worry less about impressing people

I know I will be hired using my coding assignment or live coding interview, not by how I talk or how charming I am

Pre 7 am tea

it was so dark outside, had to switch on lights, you'd think you were living in the nordics

the morning time is something else, I think the ancient were right about the morning rituals

Pre 6 pm tea

started exploring zed because I wanted to write code without AI help & develop some intuition for Rust

also just checked the repo for merge velocity & it's being shipped really fast

it's a different workflow as compared to windsurf_ai & cursor_ai

exploring the middle path

what are some KV stores that are distributed, horizontally scalable, and come with auto-sharding? is FoundationDB the only one?
