The reason all this trauma sh*t is so hard to push back against in our head is because it's been on repeat for decades. Our brain was literally, physically molded around beliefs & experiences authored by our abusers.

Time itself does not magically heal anything. Time that passes while a wound or injury is getting no care or the wrong care can actually be toxic.
I don't care how long ago a wound or injury occurred-- "you should be over that by now" is never a realistic approach to healing.
