So sad to hear of the passing of Hal Wake. I met him through the Vancouver Writer’s Festival where he was Artistic Director, and he was just the kindest man. Made me feel important as a writer, sure, but even as an audience member. Absolute master of hugs. Sigh. Rest well, Hal.

I know hockey is a business but Quinn Hughes was such a lovely human beyond the ice. He had a poetry anthology on his shelf for the love of god. Of COURSE I’d kill for this kid. So until these news guys arrive with laser focus and, I dunno, fucking Rupi Kaur collections, I will remain inconsolable.

Starting each Friday night with therapy is so discombobulating. I spend 50 minutes dissecting damage done by [REDACTED ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCE] then re-enter the world and some guy is just loitering outside a restaurant pounding a deep-fried mac and cheese donut? Show some respect, Glen.
