I'm super stressed right now so here's a recent favourite landscape from a few months ago again - Dunvegan in Alberta, Canada. This aerial embroidery took forever but was worth it 💚 the higher up perspective is more intricate and slower to sew I've found, more fiddly! #art

As a Manet lover and an American History enjoyer- The Battle of the Kearsarge and the Alabama is a personal favourite. The vivid naval warfare is matched by the dark swirl of the sea.

The oldest presidential photograph is that of John Quincy Adams from 1843. Taken nearly 15 years after his presidency, JQA would be the first to be photographed

There’s a little aurora peeking over the northern horizon on the Isle Royale cam in Michigan. Kind of nice to look at, though!

The rapid expansion of the US and the degradation of the natural frontier prompted a protest by artists. The Hudson Valley School prompted the creation of some of the US’ most beautiful landscapes

One of the coolest advertisements for an artist I have ever seen! The poster is for a show of Robert Rauschenberg’s collage work in 1980. It is so unique and eye catching!!

1713 years ago, on the 27th of October 312, Constantine is said to have had a vision of a cross before the Battle of the Milvian Bridge. According to Christian chroniclers, this marked the beginning of Constantine's conversion to Christianity. The Edict of Milan followed in 313. #otd #history 🗃️

Today I learned that John C. Calhoun’s wife was called Floride… I love weird and random 1800s names… Floride Calhoun (and her weirdly big hair)

If pushed, I'd probably have to say that my favourite Anglo-Saxon king is King Ethelbert since he is the only one whose name contains an entire middle-aged British couple from the 1960s.

Its said that war breeds innovation. That innovation is not always great in practice. The Hunley was a Confederate submarine that was used in combat. It was successful in taking down a Union ship, but destroyed itself in the process, killing all 8 of its crew
