Here's a little update on the sewing project. I've started working on the toes after having put the main part together.

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI
recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

So I'm working on a secret project, can't talk much about it right now. but I'm so early in this piece that I feel I can at least share this face sketch. Honestly by the time I'm finished with this she'll probably look different, but man I'm already loving her. This piece is going be so cool!

Working on a late gift for my cousin & his wife while I'm in between projects. I had a lot of personal projects last year, which I loved, but this year is starting out with commissions, gifts, and requests.

How's your art starting out this year? Do you have any goals for the year?

Lots of people think they don't make art because they "lack talent". That's almost never the real reason, though. Most people stop because being a beginner hurts so bad. Embarrassment, shame and avoiding "cringe" stopped me for years. So most people wait to feel confident before they start. But...

I'm Amber, I'm a multimedia artist with a love for fantasy, animals, and various types of media. I'm also big into gaming, specifically ttrpgs.
