Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

This exactly. As a middle class person, it kills me to see I have paid more $$ in Fed taxes than many of the 1% meanwhile I can’t deduct my insanely high property tax any longer. #thanksTrump

It's called empathy and compassion, a key part of being a decent human being. Instead of hating those that are different or struggling, we should be loving them and helping them. I will never, ever understand the ugly and evil mindset of the cult.

I finished this today. These were so well written and def are in the “weird girl” and “sapphic girl” lit categories. The imagery is beautiful, the stories metaphorical and make you think. I cannot wait to see what Kathryn Harlan writes next. Feb is off to a strong start!

I’ve read a bunch of these & enjoyed! I’d add Stay With Me by Ayòbámi Adébàyò to the mix if you haven’t checked it out. It’s VERY underrated- was a 5⭐️ for me in early 2023

January reading wrap up. I really need to get myself over to storygraph! My favorites were All My Rage, Long Way Down, Witches of Bone Hill, Red at the Bone, Night Circus, Maybe Once/Maybe Twice, and The Night Circus. It was truly a great reading month - lots of 5 ⭐️

First DNF of the year. I spent over 6 hours with the audiobook and was still not into it. 3 others were waiting for it in Libby, so I passed it along ♥️ When do my fellow #booksky peeps mark a DNF in their “read” count for the year?
