🔟 years after the Paris Agreement, the #ClimateCrisis is worsening but #COP30 can make a difference by scaling up grant-based public 💰 to meet developing countries' needs instead of pushing for a private finance-first model that is failing to deliver needed funds.

1️⃣0️⃣yrs after the #ParisAgreement the #ClimateCrisis is accelerating, and a growing #DebtCrisis is fueling a vicious circle that forces countries to prioritise debt repayments over critical spending on health, education & #climate action.

For the Trump admin, fossil fuel profits always matter more than the people.
The White House is offering “concierge, white glove service” to oil, coal and other fossil fuel companies that are seeking to gain fast approval for their projects, according to an energy official, while slowing down or blocking solar and wind projects.

With our government shutdown because of Trump + the GOP's refusal to fund healthcare subsidies, it's important to remember that those same people have already expanded subsidies that help make fossil fuel CEOs richer.

Trump’s speech at the UN General Assembly today was a brutally clear example of the connection between white nationalism, climate denialism, + fossil fuel expansion.

He pits people against those who may seem “different” to distract us from who profits from our devastation.
Trump just gave a deeply disturbing speech at the UN that tied climate denial to anti-immigrant racism. It showed exactly who he stands for: those at the top who profit from tearing families apart and destroying the possibility of a livable future. bit.ly/3Ki6zhc

this is a good and interesting analysis. The IEA has said *for years* that the o&g industry is making progress on reducing methane; that methane reductions would pay for themselves (more gas to sell); and that its low hanging fruit.

Very little evidence of progress. And industry continues to expand
