When you erase the history of the code talkers, you are erasing the history of the Second World War.

Let's just say it:

The Trump Administration is offended by the idea that anyone but white men have a place in history.

I don’t know why, but I feel like there is a distinct viciousness to that man’s comb over.
Wow.

Rep. Chuck Edwards is getting torn apart at a town hall in Asheville, NC.

“I’m a veteran & you don’t give a fuck about me. You don’t get to do this to us!”

Edwards orders veteran to be thrown out.

We’re approaching a tipping point now. Anger across the country is going to boil over soon.

Thinking about how Indian Health Service is so underfunded that they denied payment for my grandma’s cancer pills. Add the cutting of Medicaid to that, and yeah lots of Native people are going to die.

Just attended a great webinar from these leading researchers. Such important work is being done by this team. Great insights from speakers as well. Thanks PRRI!

Hello new followers! I’m a hospital chaplain, practical theologian and artist. I write about the US context and I welcome dialogue with my theological, clinical, social science and artistic colleagues.

Here to provide spiritual support and sometimes, critical pushback to nonsense.

Hey if anyone is considering backing up any datasets for some reason today, the Open Science Framework has free storage up to 5G/private repository, and up to 50G/public repository.

(The OSF is run by a 501c3 (Center for Open Science), so if you do this you might also consider making a donation.)

Vance thinking he can cast the “Ordo Amoris” spell and make all Catholics ignore the poor and needy of this world is one of the strangest role playing game scenarios I’ve ever encountered. Who’s DM in this reality anyway?

John Fetterman’s a disgrace to the oaf community. He does not represent America’s lumbering buffoons, ham-fisted galoots, or men whose heavy footsteps are soundtracked by a tuba.

Who would like to help me stage an intervention with Tim Burton because as much as I wanted to like the Beetlegeuse sequel, the man’s biases and baggage were on full display and I’m frankly a bit surprised that the A Listers in the cast were ok with this.

I thought today that I was running out of reasons to hope but upon reflection, hope is its own reason. I hope for my good and the good of all God has created. I will continue to act on that hope until I can’t any longer. I don’t need a reason and I’m not stopping to look for one.

I’m struck by the way Biden’s announcements if his decision not to run and to pardon Hunter sound so personal. He clearly is making these decisions without a lot of input and perhaps even in isolation.

Hello new followers. I post at the strange, sad and wonderful crossroads of practical theology, spiritual care, health equity and arts, especially music and comics. I own my religio-spiritual context and I’d like to build collegial ties and dialogues with anyone who feels similarly.

I’m reading all this “Democrats getting over the grief and gearing up for the midterms” stuff and I’m like, “Midterms?”

You guys get out there TODAY and challenge what this man wants to do to our country! No more going to the consultants. You guys get out there and lead this very day!

Welcome new followers! Im a chaplain and I post from a critical/pastoral pov, including theologies of healing and decoloniality, institutional medicine, theologies of crisis, interfaith tensions, power and art. It’s a lot! Ask me anything and suggest a topic for discussion!

To all new followers, I post on chaplain concerns, US theology and moral questions, art, music and nonsense at times. I won’t follow you until I see posts from you that show that we gel because I’m not inviting chaos into my feed. I look forward to the conversation

Listening to Elton John’s early demos, voice and piano only, for “Madman Across the Water” is a balm for the soul. The lyrics are more clear, more deeply urgent without all the fancy production. Recommended for those needing something beautiful and grace filled.

So nice to see so many friends and colleagues here. These thoughtful conversations without the static give me hope. Let’s get to work!
