Our over-reliance on foreign tech giants is a huge risk to our security and resilience when faced with Donald Trump’s ever increasing belligerence.

Joan is one of the most forceful leaders of data labelers who do a lot of the behind the scenes work that make "AI" function.

Listen to her reframe "human capital" and her analysis on the way global majority workers get treated in the global tech economy and why.

So much good stuff in here.
@alixdunn.com asked digital rights activist and Data Labelers Association President Joan Kinyua for her take on “human capital” as part of our Reframing Impact: AI Summit 2026 series, in partnership with @ainowinstitute.bsky.social and Aapti Institute. Watch the full interview here:

1, Big Tech and their data center buildouts
2, A fossil fuel industry 'under threat'
3, A corrupt AF Trump admin that listens to lobbyists

They are working hand-in-hand to create supply and demand for each other, whether we want it or not.

I sat down with Naomi Klein (@naomiaklein.bsky.social) for our Reframe series. We dug into the bizarre frame of AI as a solution to the climate crisis.

Per usual, I was pretty blown away by her analysis.

The stickiest insight for me is her description of a three-legged stool.
