Sports reporters: it’s been a really disappointing day for Team GB. Cut to post event interview with Mia Brookes looking absolutely buzzing and delighted to be living her best life. Love her. #MilanoCortina

I’d like to have a go at the luge in the ordinary people Winter Olympics. A nice lie down, but going very fast #MilanoCortina

Watching a BBC4 recording of Jeff Buckley in Chicago. Such a beautiful talent. I remember a driving holiday in Scotland when we played Grace on a loop. It was ace. Gone far too soon, just like his dad.

Family funeral today (ex father in law, a long and colourful life well lived). The usual mixture of really sad but reuniting with people I’ve not seen in years. Excellent send off. Go well Tony x

Global Eye on BBC2 is so good. It’s basically a tv version of From Our Own Correspondent

At the point in the evening where me and the cat are blinking at each other. I’m taking it as a sign of our eternal bond. He’s probably plotting my demise

This is really great. A crumbling Ukrainian spa resort against the backdrop of war. Incredible character studies and a stunning brutalist swimming pool. Beautifully made. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...
Storyville - Sanatorium
Storyville documentary. A bittersweet and surreal summer unfolds inside a crumbling Soviet-era wellness resort in Odesa, where guests seek healing, love and distraction.

I really love Storyville (tons of episodes on iPlayer). Beautiful filmmaking and glimpses of other places and lives. Just watched this wonderful film about aging and nature in rural Norway. Gorgeous stuff www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis... #Storyville
Storyville - Songs of Earth
A Storyville documentary in which the landscapes of Norway provide the backdrop for this immersive story of a family whose lives are linked intrinsically to their environment.

J is out at a ‘Spoons somewhere, right and proper for an 18yo on NYE. I’m watching REM at the BBC from a recording and considering going to bed 👵🏻

Unbelievably, #DuvetKnowItsChristmas generates such good will on social media that over the years we've raised somewhere approaching a quarter of a million quid for homeless charities. If you can spare a bob or two, sling some to Centrepoint, and here's the link: www.gofundme.com/f/duvet-know...

J is at the pub with his mates (also all home from uni) so I’m watching Christmas ghost stories and drinking excellent wine. I do miss those early Christmases when he was little, but the world keeps turning. Cheers everyone 🍷

The John Lewis Christmas ad is actually a real downer. The dad seems properly depressed and the dance scene is reminiscent of the really sad bits from Aftersun. Merry Christmas?

Just caught up with the #SCD drama. Did not see that one coming. I’m team Karen all the way though
