This is really huge. For my friends in tech, Oauth is a way of giving third party apps/services access to your Bluesky account securely, without them having access to your password. It will make it easier for people to make tools that build on the functionality here. 1/
We got a blog post out summarizing our launch of OAuth for AT Protocol, and what work remains. This has been a huge project led by @matthieu.bsky.team with input from a bunch of standards folks and devs.

For a major organisation like the ABC to a) cite the toxic atmosphere as reason to abandon *huge* accounts, and b) to cite rising API costs as a reason to abandon emergency alert services, should be a major signal that if you don't have plans to abandon ship: make some immediately.
