This is an excellent interview on the “future” city experiments in the Gulf; especially on how Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City is working out.
“These cities have a clear separation from the outside. These utopias will be preserved, while the outside is imagined as a space of catastrophe.”

Sustainable Aviation Fuels exist in the same space as direct air capture, CCS, BECCs, hydrogen etc in that they all require you to not think too hard about what the world looks like if you actually scale them up to what's being promised
