It’s interesting to me that the most common attributes we associate with the colour red is passion, anger, violence, love. But there’s another symbolic meaning of the deep red like in a pomegranate: fertility.

Short-eared Owls are one of the most widespread owls of the world. At this time of year the northernmost nesters will migrate a bit to the south to concentrate for the winter in open meadows, shorelines, pastures with good feeding.
