Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

I hate that in sci-fi and apocalypse stories, the biggest threat is always other humans.

3rd Baking Yesteryear bake! Ricciarelli. Apparently I overdid the powdered sugar. 😂 These were a hit with my dnd group but we all agreed that if I were to make them again, I should reduce the almond and increase the lemon.

I watched the first season of Hazbin Hotel today. I feel like this show was made with a very specific audience in mind and I check all the boxes.

I see people talk about ICE by calling them the Gestapo, and while its not hard to see the comparison; they really aught to be compared to something homegrown. Because in truth, the closest thing we can compare ICE to is to federal slave catchers. The operation is the same.

My second Baking Yesteryear bake was Starchies and I will claim these were not a success. They look good but they taste super gluey. I ended up going online and learning you should stop adding cornstarch once you have a dough. So I had to do some fixes that probably didn't help.

What can we all do? Make it known that ICE agents should have terrible days, every day. Just every day worse than the last and that we’re keeping score and the bill will come due. If they leave ICE, they get a little discount.

My NY's resolution is to bake something from #BakingYesteryear for every life dnd session I have. I decided to start with coconut macaroons. I think they look pretty good. Hubby stole one before I could even get them on the cooking rack. His finding? "Too hot." Sir.

The number of people whose work, talent, etc. have amazed me during a long life that have turned out to be crazy, evil, supportive of evil, etc... is not a small number any longer. Entire bodies of work that I have supported now make me unbearably sad.
