I don’t weigh in on Alberta politics — every province charts its own course. But the message from #ForeverCanadian resonates: we’re stronger together. Here in Courtenay–Alberni, our work in ship-recycling, local food, and climate-resilient forestry depends on a united Canada. Forever Canadian.

Sometimes it's just better to block a moron and let them think they won the argument.

50 years ago today, Nov. 10, 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald sank beneath the waves of Lake Superior during a massive storm.
The sinking took the lives of all 29 men on the ship, and became immortalized in Gordon Lightfoot's song.
This is the story of this terrible tragedy.

I think a part of it is that people are numb. The world is throwing so much at them that they've glazed over.
I am disheartened to see how few people bother to wear a poppy.

What happened over the last few years that we suddenly forgot those, whom we always promised not to forget?

They paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Let’s be better.

The settling of North America has some very dark moments. But Canada chose to rise above the intolerance to build a country based on diversity, equity, inclusion, democracy.
Canada is a nation but it also a choice that we make.
And we will defend that choice.
