Spring slowly advancing this am in Oxford. Fantastic to ring our first willow warbler of the year among a flush of blackcaps and a lovely bullfinch.

I also heard my first willow warbler yesterday just outside my door. Seemed to be singing somewhere in Elder Stubbs - great to hear them in the city!

What were your #top5birds moments from the past week?

Mine:
1. Little grebe at patch lake (1st record)
2. 9 goosander at patch lake (highest count)
3. Pheasant in the garden ( unexpected as its a terraced!)
4. Song thrush at our feeders
5. Hanging out for a few minutes with a very curious goldcrest
Neat idea.
What were your #Top5Birds or bird moments from the past week?

Mine:
1. Two Collared Doves in the garden (only our 4th record).
2. Four Reed Buntings in someone else’s garden.
3. Common Scoter on local loch.
4. Long-tailed Ducks (always!)
5. Hen Harriers at two isle roosts.
