brb jailbreaking my F-35 to sideload some games
I'm unhappy to report that even after ~18 years of occasional guitar phases, I still can't alternate pick correctly and will reliably manage to accidentally catapult the pick into the shadow realm at some point
The fucked up wrist on the picking hand is now acting up again :/
Puts a bit of a limit on how fast I can actually play because the ulnar styloid (the round thing on the outside of the wrists), is technically not attached to the ulna bone itself in my case*, but it can hurt tissue if I overdo it

I reached the "fingers hurt too much to move" phase, and I finally learned why using virtual amps always felt off: The ~3-7ms delay between hitting the string and the signal going in and back out of the processing chain is barely perceptible but enough to make me "stutter" with the right hand 🫠

*it's ECC server RAM
**also it's DDR3

I mean, I technically played guitar for 20 years but I always have 1 month phases where I do nothing else followed by 6 months of nothing, so I kind of have to relearn things a lot and dig out old notebooks where I figured out how to read the fretboard and why a tone works at a particular point 🙃

Every time I see a power cable plugged in but not connected to any device, I wonder what the 230V at the end would taste like. Not sure why, call of the void I guess 🤷🏼

hatte meinen vater eigentlich immer bei "konservativ aus bequemlichkeit" verortet, klassischer ex-kommie der in den 70/80ern noch das system stürzen wollte bis das erste Chefgehalt winkte, aber bei "das nazipack kannste eigentlich nur hinrichten" - aus dem nichts - scheint wieder was aufzukeimen

I don't know what's funnier, giving claude rw access to your one single copy of important files or the fact that a tech VC has a shittier storage setup than a homelabber on a budget

I'm this 🤏close to installing some Linux distro on my dads computer and tell him that's what windows looks like now
Every other week it's some new issue and this time it's malware (... that can't call home because I already put a (proper, hardware-)firewall in their basement and it's a known C2 )

Yup, still causes me to check downdetector and if there isn't a spike already visible, I'm going to make a panicked run through the server logs while assuming that something went terribly, irreperably wrong and all is lost
The cool thing about running your own atproto PDS is that when you see network failures or weird logouts, you get to wonder
