I'll never forget the day that the legendary David Doak, one of the designers that made Goldeneye 007 for N64, posted this.
The Retro Blast Podcast was only about a year old then, and it meant so damn much to me.
Especially as someone who remembers shooting him in the face as a kid... like, a lot.

FFVII Remake Intergrade
I haven't played a huge swath of FF spinoffs etc. (heck, I've missed out on a lot of mainline entries too 😅). With that being said FFVII Remake Intergrade was such a crazy glow up. It's the remake that all remakes should aspire to be. 😊

It’s is unfortunate we live in a time where Shin-Ra is the actual villain of our lives. And the way they redirected our attention to Sephiroth as the “villain” is so modern day corporation and political power coded. It to years to have a proper dialogue as to why Sephiroth was a victim.

Tifa from FF7 has always been a queen in my book. Loving, intelligent powerful and beautiful. I also play as her the most in the remake as I love a good hand to hand combat fight. Dead Fantasy’s portal of Tifa also played a huge role in my love for her. 🥰

I wanted so much more for this game and unfortunately greed played its down fall. I did not appreciate all the different media I needed to consume to understand the main plot. Loved the good looking characters and beautiful world. But I needed more of the in game plot to really shine.✨❤️

My Grandfather passed away at just 50 years old before I was born.
His name was Cecil, and when I played Final Fantasy IV at age 9, I was so excited that the protagonist shared his name.
I imagined it was my Grandfather instead while playing, and it made me feel like I was spending time with him.💜
