Capitalism is a hell of a drug. One of my coworkers tried to justify America's invasion of Iraq as being in our financial best interests as a country. The punchline? He's Iraqi. Not Iraqi heritage, actually born and raised for a substantial portion of his life IN Iraq.

I'm so conflicted over whether to apply for this job opening. It pays $80-90k but it's a supervisor position. It's also salary. Supervisor means majority deskwork, which I loathe. Salary means being exploited to work many unpaid extra hours. That's a lot of money, though... Much closer to home too.

I'm not sure which aspect of this chart is more alarming. There's the extreme growth of both humans and domesticated animals over the past 200 years, the fact that humans make up such a large proportion of thirst biomass, or the sharp decline in wild land and marine mammals. It all sucks.

I got my 20 year veteran's cape. I don't know why I keep buying these things, they're nowhere near as good as some of my other capes, but I like having them I guess. Not like I'm low on bank space.

I'm hoping this age verification bullshit that more and more sites are having to roll out is handled intelligently. My FA, Sofurry, and YouTube accounts are all old enough that even if I somehow made them on the day my father impregnated my mother, I'd still be an adult by now. I shouldn't be carded

It is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that blue states start building affordable housing and addressing their cost-of-living crises. Even ignoring the impact it will have on people living there, we're setting ourselves up for complete Republican domination after the 2030 census.
