MASSIVE FIND: Two lost ancestry paintings finally found: The famous Dutch portrait artist Berend Kunst was a Cosmopolitan artist who travelled all over Europe. He just so happened to also portray FIVE of my ancestors.
- Jakob Hindriks Kuper (1792-1856)
- Engeltje Jochems Georgius (1809-1894)

Jochum Remmes Georgius (1778-1854)
A farmer in the Dutch region of the Oldambt, who left behind quite a trail of art and poetry in his life. A pious rural romantic poet who also figured in the Dutch Rèveil, a religious romanticism movement.
Will post more in October

When we talk about adopting a neurodiversity perspective, and rejecting the language of deficit, it doesn’t mean “focus on people’s strengths instead”. It means “don’t assume a difference between two neurotypes is a deficit” or more generally “accept the differences between people w/o judging them”.
"A focus on earning power reinforces existing prejudices...The pursuit of capitalist-defined strengths risks excluding people with a learning disability from the neurodiversity narrative.
And researchers are driven to use economic arguments to demonstrate the value of their work."

Neurodiversity is Anti-Capitalist
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the concept of “strengths”, and the way we define them, in relation to neurodiversity.

We live in a time where it's no longer possible to see the architecture as a simple manifestation of its functions. In the rising post-industrial creative society, the mind (psychology) is inextricably linked with the concept of beauty, and in the same way, the architecture in it must be as well.

I won’t share RFK Jr.’s lies about autism.
It’s disgusting and dangerous.
If he had a shred of decency, he would apologize and resign.
Autistic people contribute every day to our nation’s greatness.
To every kid with autism, I’m in this fight all the way for you.

Your occasional reminder that autism doesn't exist outside autistic people.
If you're telling us you want to "defeat" or "eliminate" autism, it doesn't take much to understand what you're REALLY saying.
Happy #AutismAcceptance month, by the way 🫠

I had to leave my oldest online friend for being a total abortion abolitionist and just overall dismissive of minorities and it's getting back to me tonight. It hurt so much I had to do that but I just can't associate with beliefs like that. I hope that somehow he grows away from these beliefs

Social media and mass media actively create fear and a sensation of doom within people. I had a discussion with my family about it and we all agreed its best to stay away from it or mute anything political. A rational and calm view of the world is formed by going outside and talking to people

I love watching the Crown series because it made me learn how these kind of privileged people struggle, especially with how they're rightly or wrongly perceived by the public and harassment from the media
