Wicked: For Good solves all the Act 2 issues of the musical with a heavy dose of show instead of all the tell. But it’s still the second act so you are not gonna get musical theatre Godfather part II so get over that and you will enjoy

At the Hampstead for The Assembled Parties. It’s a bit of a throwback despite being from 2013 in a good way

Excellent critique of the PM and helpful description of a political creed I completely oppose. And reminder that for all its flaws I’d much prefer the factional model of Australia’s Labor Party

Starmer should fire whoever briefed this or his conference speech was a sham. Tbh this entire policy already repudiates this. I’ve never been more ashamed to be a Labour member
Somebody is briefing the Times that the Home Secretary finds inspiration in Kristi Noem's leading the Trump mass deportation effort - which has gone much too far for Americans

What a kamikaze piece of political madness that is on the eve of their asylum package

Tonight I am seeing Chess on Broadway and the house is full. I last saw this show on tour in Southend for a matinee. Slightly different budgets but brilliantly sung. Let’s see how this one plays the game

Well the St James balcony is closed on a Wednesday matinee so I’d say despite the outlier NYT review this show is finding it a hard sell

Liberation lived up to its hype. Excellent play.

Some kid called Nick Offerman was one of the contestants at Spelling Bee tonight. He sure knew how to spell those single malts and had an impressive moustache

The current Broadway company of Hadestown are an all stars sensation of an ensemble. Glad I got to see it here for the first time with this group

Joshua Henry. That is all 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Prince Faggot didn’t disappoint. Really glad got to fit that one. Not sure where it would transfer in London but would the bar staff also wear little Miss ket blank tanks? All the big questions really

Well I’m here in time for a matinee, then perhaps a slice of Mahlers before Ragtime this evening at Lincoln Centre

I really enjoyed Boots and doesn’t seem anyone really talked about it. It was grand.

I would say go see The Line of Beauty but it’s sold out. So see the transfer next year? Wonderfully cast adaptation

50 First Dates the musical was surprisingly good? It knows exactly why it’s a musical a and a clear labour of love from the creative team that was well worth seeing

A bit late to seeing it but Punch may be my favourite James Graham play yet. Going to assume act two is just as good but this is essential viewing and provoking a lot of complex emotions

Grateful for the restoration of small programmes at the NT. We didn’t need oversized brochures and glad those years are behind us.

Happy new Evita 2025 cast album release date. So when is the rest coming or do blame streamer gen z for the bare ten tracks?

Feels weird to see Les Mis without the revolve and traps but only miss it during one scene and certain moments much better. It’s the old classic for a reason and quite the cast for the 40th
October 22, 2025 at 10:02 PM
Grumble grumble this show has made more money than anyone can count for forty years and he only pays for fourteen musicians? I bet my programme from the Palace has around 19?
October 22, 2025 at 6:08 PM
It’s kinda wild to me how flat a London audience was for a long running show compared to same show in NY last year even though cast are really quite brilliant. Tuesday nights huh

Me describing one of the biggest commercial hits in London to bestie as “the worst musical I have ever seen” and being told “that’s a high bar!” Really read me
October 19, 2025 at 2:00 PM
Maybe the smallest point but I read that profile piece and aside from the racist policy proposal apparently she’s written 5 commercial musicals and I’ve never heard of her… draw your conclusion I guess

The Lady from the Sea at the Bridge is one of my must see plays this year tbh
