I’m a strong arguer that 4th isn’t the worst position at the Olympics at all, and Kirsty Muir should take a lot of pride in coming 4th in two separate Olympic competitions. Great performances.

The live speedometer and course map in the sliding events manages to be really impressive while simultaneously being reminiscent of a late 80s/early 90s winter sports video game.

Wouldn’t mind a deeper dive on “following legal advice”. Might just have been ‘to avoid possibly being sued’, but we seem to have been cursed by successive governments with scant regard for legality.

The black paint around the Olympic rings is also much more problematic than I'd considered. Legitimately cannot see the puck for a part of its flight.

Absolutely honking decision in the Newcastle v Villa game, and both the referee and assistant are to blame. Commentary rightly saying VAR would have corrected it, but once again it’s a level of incompetence which shouldn’t be present in the first place.

The only problem if this Calcutta Cup result holds is that, devoid of context, it’ll bring out an insufferable line of people asking ‘Oh! Where are all the folk who were moaning about <any legitimate disappointment from Scotland in the last decade> now?!’
