Kyogokudo isn't honkaku per se because there's a supernatural* element to them but they're basically honkaku
*the entire point of them is that the supernatural element isn't real and mental illness and trauma makes you do weird shit

I've hoped for that for years too but I feel like it's just not gonna happen. They're pretty solid adaptations though so I'd gladly take them.

One thing I've noticed about Yokomizo's writing (even across different translators) is that it's more descriptive and talks about the character's emotions more often than I'm used to in other honkaku mysteries.
