Is your child texting about Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson’s new book?

What your Abundance obsessed teen’s texts mean:

Smh = so much housing

Brb = breaking regulatory barriers

Ttyl = talking to Yimby’s later

Gtg = gotta tackle growth

Nsfw = national supply-side fixes waiting

Some abundance-oriented intellectuals would disagree, but my read on the abundance school’s greater significance is as an attempt to recover elements of the New Deal’s political economy and move past the New Left/degrowther instincts that still have too much influence over contemporary liberalism.

The fight going on in the Democratic Party right now is not between hard left, left and moderate. It’s between those who want to fight and those who want to cave. And Team Fight stretches across all ideological aspects of the Party. Misread this at your own peril.

This is so stupidly offensive. It's not just the obvious wink wink nod nod of renaming forts after *literal traitors*, it's the pretending he's not doing that, while knowing everyone knows he is.

Thinks he's being clever, but is too stupid to know he just looks like a dipshit.

This is very good
The root that tears apart your foundation begins as a seed of distrust, hate, and blame.

The seed that grew into a dictatorship in Europe didn’t arrive overnight.

It started with everyday Germans mad about inflation and looking for someone to blame.

In advance of tonight’s episode of severance, here’s a thread on which MDR character is which Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

First off, Helly/Helena is definitely Raphael.

Both are intense, rebellious, and strong-willed.

Again, as @kateconger.com and @rmac.bsky.social demonstrate quite clearly in their book, Elon did this playbook at Twitter AND IT FAILED MISERABLY. But he and his fans convinced themselves it worked wonders. And now they're trying to do the same thing to the federal gov't.
