What Did Men Do to Deserve This?
Changes in the economy and in the culture seem to have hit them hard. Scott Galloway believes they need an “aspirational vision of masculinity.”

There's a lesson here: to defeat these losers you just simply ignore them. The giveaway is "what's rhetoric and what's policy" because, of course, a guy like O'Leary can't imagine anyone having principles or empathy for another human.
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

Nuremberg is about the famous trials, but it somehow also features Russell Crowe hamming it up as Hermann Goring. Not good! brieftake.com/nuremberg-re...
Nuremberg Review - Brief Take
There's a dopey gee-whiz tone to director James Vanderbilt's Nuremberg that gradually undoes the film's powerful historical narrative.

The final stage of homeownership isn't NIMBYism, it's saluting a house centipede with a "thank you for your service" before relocating it to the basement.

Prior to 1959, retail units (like one that now contains a popular pizzeria) were allowed without major issue. Then we made rules to block them, and then some people spent a lot of time talking about "old Toronto" as if it was the natural way of things. Which old Toronto? When? Something to consider.
I wrote an op-ed on what I think about the fight for local neighbourhood retail (and the grousing about Badiali's) means for the urban vision of Toronto. Gift link here: www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...
When even the humble corner store is impossible to open in Toronto, it’s a sign of something deeply wrong
We need to accept that Toronto is now a big city.

Two years ago I interviewed a 31-year-old NY state assemblymember about a 7-year-old girl killed by an SUV driver in his district. I hung up the phone, astonished that I'd talked to a legislator who so thoughtfully articulated what actually needs to change on our streets.

People you'd cross the street to avoid are really mad about the new mayor of NYC.

Four (4) levels of underground parking in that building.
Our brand new $128 million dollar civic asset (St Lawrence Market North) sitting empty on a beautiful Sunday. Meanwhile the city refuses to make Market Street pedestrianized year-round because adjacent market BIA hasn’t agreed to “animate it” in winter. Where is your own “animation”?

Got a bunch of new urbanism followers on here, but I will more than likely be posting about baseball for the next 24 hours. Please know: the Jays struggling to cash in with runners in scoring position in Game 6 last night is how I feel about Toronto right now. So close, and yet!
