It is certainly interesting that the politician who frames himself as the most conservative is obsessed with regulating what people sell and where they live

The very idea that a politician thinks they should be able to create a prescribed list of approved items for sale really highlights how unhinged local politics is.

Is this thing on? Is anyone thinking about this?

Wouldn't this just be inducing more vehicles into an area we're trying to plan and build as a transit-oriented community, one that needs a full GO Station (rather than an additional UP Express stop)?

Not sure how this improves streetcar service. If the intersection gets wider, the signal timings/cycle length will likely have to change. It may turn out to make streetcar service.... slower.

He votes against it even when the signal will be installed by a developer and no immediate cost to the city. It's interesting.

This piece on Nuremberg is making the rounds. Michael Shannon rightly goes off -- funny that James Vanderbilt maybe didn't heed his concern here. www.theguardian.com/film/2025/no...

Please, think of the little people in this, Alex.

Preaching to the choir here, but it is remarkable to see the fear mongering about retail on local streets, as if the mere act of permitting it will unleash an uncontrollable tidal wave of new businesses in residential areas. People are scared just for the sake of being scared, like it's their hobby.

The American project is just so vast. There's always some new useless federal politician to learn about.
