There’s something incredibly comforting about watching a YouTuber playing a game you love with decent commentary. I know some find it odd how others enjoy watching people play games, but to me it’s like a warm blanket. Especially when that game is Skyrim.

Played Planet Unknown with a friend tonight, fantastic. Premise is you each have a planet you must develop by placing tiles. Really feels like a game with limitless replayability. Can even play it solo (always a bonus). Definitely recommended #boardgames

Well had my first date in at least 6 months and it didn’t go terribly. Only met for coffee but I picked my favourite café in Whitley Bay so I’d be comfortable and don’t think I got too anxious. He seemed to enjoy himself anyway.

Finished Alexander’s Legacy by Robert Fabbri tonight. I don’t like being disparaging about books but I can’t express how disappointed I was with this. I adore this period of history and it’s ripe for retelling—so much intrigue and action—but this was a real chore to get through. Such a shame.

Trying to connect my Oculus Quest to my PC - have to go through the rigmarole of downloading 2GB of software from a webpage that laughably claims that "setting up your headset is quicker and easier than ever before". What, quicker and easier than just plugging in a USB cable?

Sure I’m in the minority but I cannot wait for the ‘festive’ season to be over. Always find it a melancholic time of year. At least the days are getting longer now.

Had a GP appointment first thing, figured well I’ll take the chance to go to my favourite café (Thirteen in Whitley Bay) and do some work. Half an hour on, I’ve finished my coffee and the laptop is still grinding its way through an update. Number of words edited - zero.
