I can’t explain how much joy #CelebrityTraitors brings me. Utterly hilarious whilst also being a psychological treat!

Knowing that my second endometriosis surgery is now booked in and scheduled brings up such mixed emotions. Grateful that I have a consultant who listens and is supportive, with a hint of feeling sorry for myself because it's a reminder that endo just sucks!

Teaching a fun science & critical thinking course this semester.

Trying out THAMES as a handy mnemonic for what to look for in evaluating science papers & such (obvs not all are as relevant for every paper)...

Finally watching the first episode of #CelebrityTraitors.

First observation is that it’s interesting to watch celebs explicitly seeing it as a game, whereas I think many people in the normal version see it as an opportunity to win money to change their life and so don’t just see it as ‘a fun game’

I couldn't watch the first episode of Celebrity Traitors last night so I'm very much looking forward to catching up this evening!

So intrigued to see how it goes when people already have an idea of each other's characters. How will that play into the way people play the game? SO EXCITED.

I've been wanting to write again recently but I keep getting that little self-doubt voice that says 'you've got nothing interesting to say' and 'nobody will be interested anyway'.

Maybe it's time to just push through the discomfort and get writing again regardless of the little self-doubt voice!

Just read this on the lack of digital skills, which isn't new but reinforces experience in the classroom & should be a further nail in the coffin to idea that students are "digital natives" means anything other than they have probably grown up near connected devices.

As an academic with endometriosis I sometimes struggle navigating academia with such a frustrating and misunderstood chronic condition.

I find myself wondering if there’s enough support for students dealing with this condition, especially now so many are having to juggle jobs alongside studying.

Does anyone know of a (preferable accessible) guide to understanding / building cognitive tasks? You have software specific books like Building Experiments in PsychoPy, but I'm looking for more of a dummy's guide to tasks to think about trial structure, responses etc.

Trying to buy tickets is becoming a more and more frustrating experience. Spot 40,000+ in the queue for Lewis Capaldi tickets this morning and there's already people selling tickets online (either scalpers actually selling or scammers who don't actually have tickets).
