Interesting @jay.bsky.team how your company treats Creators. Spending 100s of hours to be marked as spam.

Maybe indeed all this time here has been a wasted effort. Perhaps I should go back to LinkedIn and Substack only then.

Apparently all of my efforts on Bluesky, "bother users".

I think I'll go back to writing my Newsletters.

If this is how Bluesky treats Creators.

Bluesky seems to think I'm a spam bot. If that's true, maybe I should just stick with Substack Notes.

India lauds Chinese AI lab DeepSeek, plans to host its models on local servers.

The approval to allow DeepSeek to be hosted in India appears contingent on the platform storing and processing all Indian users’ data domestically, in line with India’s strict data localization requirements.

Zuckerberg dismissed the notion that Meta’s overall AI spending will drop now that DeepSeek has allegedly proven cutting-edge AI requires less money and computing than previously thought.

Hilarious how American startups look entirely unwilling to compete with China on a level playing Field.

That's not a good endorsement of their relative confidence in their own innovation or AI talent.

When did Americans become so weak?

News publications asking their members to have Substacks as side gigs to supplement their income?

Every week journalists are now quitting their jobs to join substack full time.

American Media is going independent.

SoftBank is in talks to invest up to $25 billion in OpenAI as part of a broader partnership that could see the Japanese conglomerate spend more than $40 billion on AI initiatives with the Microsoft-backed startup, according to the Financial Times.

Reelo stands out among the apps building a ‘TikTok for Bluesky’.

Remember the name if you are into that.

Essentially the AT Protocol is going to get more specialized apps.

I feature a lot of writers on my Newsletter lately. One thing that has shocked me a bit is that when a female writer is hosted, they get 40% less clicks to their Newsletter and articles. They aren't inferior in quality as journalists, investigators, or less knowledgably.

Huge gender bias exists.

The Tesla brand is in serious danger. Operating income declined 23% year over year to $1.6 billion.

Net income dropped 71% from a year earlier to $2.32 billion.

Given the demand for hybrids I don't think anything can turn this around.

Meta's investment appears to be paying off in AI. When you have a monopoly on all of social media, that tends to happen.

Sales in the fourth quarter jumped 21% year over year while net income grew 49% to $20.8 billion, up from $14 billion a year earlier.

Advertising in an AI slop universe.

Eric Schmidt says DeepSeek marks a ‘turning point’ for the global AI race.

Just another venture capitalist that says the US must win, i.e his own investments and startups. Now funding ChinaTalk on substack. You know because he's a philanthropist.

Sure you can get more original insights on Subreddits, more viral memes on X. But the amount of coverage on SS is insane on this story.

Substack even plans write a curated article on the topic to be sent to its millions

Huge amount of groupthink and herd mentality when it comes to debates around DeepSeek on social media and in the U.S. in particular.

This isn't freedom of information. Heck, this is not even independent thinking.
