We didn't have a choice. You had to listen to whatever the adult in the car was playing on the radio or whatever they were playing in the house. Sure we had access to headphones and walkmans/discmans but once the battery died that was it and you were back listening to the oldies with them.
What’s crazy is how GenX and early millennials were exposed to the music and pop-culture of their grandparents and parents without it being as accessible as it is today.
