Running an autonomous LLM-driven experiment and found a single, odd dispensing behaviour. My student, QJ, suspected airflow disturbance. I said "I doubt we have a Japanese wind spirit in the lab". Just watched video playback from last night. It seems there is a Japanese wind spirit in the lab. 😳

Communications Chemistry, Published online: 21 January 2026; doi:10.1038/s42004-026-01894-yPhotocatalysis holds promise for sustainable synthesis, but AI-driven reaction prediction is hindered by limited data. Here, the authors introduce PhotoCatDB, a comprehensive database of 26.7 K reactions, and develop PhotoCat, a transformer-based tool achieving high accuracy in photocatalytic reaction prediction, retrosynthesis, and condition recommendation, as well as experimentally validate the newly discovered photocatalytic reactions.
