I vividly remember meeting Mark at the 1st International Pennaraptoran Dinosaur Symposium at HKU in 2018. I was a nervous wreck and he was one of the first people I struck a conversation with. Fast forward a year later at the AMNH and I inexplicably ran into him with my aunt- 1/2
Feeling the incalculable loss of Mark Norell (1957-2025): wonderful scientist and cherished friend. His influence will continue through his many mentees and the science he did and inspired.
