Any org that services marginalized communities must have an executable plan to nuke their database. Keep nothing stored locally. Everything needs to be encrypted in the cloud so it can be remotely eviscerated if, ahem, someone comes for your lists & you should perhaps store this data overseas.

Other fruits I’ve found on our property include medlars and pineapple guava, which has a delightful scent and a sweet custard like center. The skins are very tart, but I also like them.

Republicans/MAGA are fucked. Thy hitched their wagons to an increasingly unpopular man who is historically bad at governing…they are afraid to anger him, but supporting him ends badly. They have nowhere to go. Good. Time to build momentum.

With the looming snap benefits food crisis, here’s an idea of something we used to do, and you can continue this even after the government reopens. We worked with a local charity to sponsor families, by paying for fresh fruits and vegetables to be delivered directly each month to households.

Here is some of Italy’s bureaucratic fun. We just got a tax bill notification by certified mail notifying us we owed past property tax as non-residents for the past several years with penalties and interest. We’ve never received a tax bill before and it turns out that’s because they don’t send them.

There’s a lot of things I love about Italy, but the bureaucracy is killing me. I need to pay property tax, but I need an Italian bank account, but I can’t get a bank account because the government is 90 days behind schedule on the documentation I need to prove my residency. Also…

Went to an event in Milano which gave us an opportunity to dress up and play fancy after being on our farm for three months wearing jeans. Was nice.

Had an interesting few moments in Rome this week. I’ve been studying Italian for over a year and for the first time ever I had several interactions where someone said something to me and I just reacted. I didn’t have to think about the words, I just heard it and responded. Something clicked.
